Criminal Justice Minor


The Minor in Criminal Justice provides students with a better understanding of the criminal justice system.  It is ideal for students presently working in, or planning for, careers in law enforcement and corrections, or want to balance their courses in criminal justice and administration.  Courses contributing to the minor includes content on the United States Constiution, how crime is defined, measured, and how law enforcement responds to crime, the courts, and corrections.  Students will gain exposure to legal terminology, and pertinent legal decisions that will engage them in the practical application of criminal justice proceedings.  Also, courses contributing to this minor will identify various agencies that serve as a measure of law enforcement and educate students about the fundamentals of their operation.

To minor in Criminal Justice, students must take 12 credits for a total of four courses from the following:
